Sean McBride

Sean helped start Lyra Health in 2015 and became Chief Customer & Revenue Officer in 2022. Prior to Lyra, Sean worked at Castlight Health, The White House’s National Economic Council, The Brookings Institution’s Health Care Reform Center, and Khulisa Management Services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. Sean is the proud father of his daughter Ophelia, dog Rupert, and three parrots Puck, Pan, and Niklaus.

Alethea Varra

Alethea Varra, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and vice president of clinical care for Lyra Health. She serves as the senior clinical leader for therapy programs and is responsible for driving overall clinical strategy and oversight of clinical quality and training. Alethea received a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She completed her internship training at VA Puget Sound Healthcare System and a research fellowship at the Mental Illness Research and Education Center (MIRECC) in Seattle. She has over 15 years of experience in mental health and clinical operations. Her focus is on health care innovation and program development, and she is passionate about improving access to evidenced-based mental health care, especially for underserved populations.

Connie Chen

Connie is the chief operating officer at Lyra Health where she oversees clinical, product, and operations including the development of Lyra Care. She was the co-founder and former chief medical officer at Vida Health. Connie currently serves on the Board of Overseers at UCSF. She has published extensively on open frameworks for mobile health as well as use of comparative effectiveness research design in leading medical journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Archives of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of Medical Internet Research. She earned her BA in Economics at Harvard, MD from UCSF, and completed her internal medicine training at Stanford.

Jenny Gonsalves

Jenny excels at using technology to build highly scalable and innovative products with delightful user experiences. Along with technology, Jenny’s passion lies in growing people and teams to tackle challenges with creative solutions. Prior to Lyra, Jenny spent over 16 years as an engineer and a leader building large-scale CRM platforms. She holds a CS degree from University of Toronto.
